ONE-ON-ONE FOLLOW-UP INTERVIEWS

What do we still need to know about your experiences of the pandemic as a professional in the bereavement sector?

Well, the survey results are in and we’ve got some follow-up questions. To fill in our knowledge gaps, we’re talking one-on-one with workers in the bereavement sector about strengths, challenges, and needs related to their pandemic experiences. This step of the research will happen in the fall of 2022.

If you identify with any of the following roles, we could especially use your insights:

  • People of colour in the profession

  • Caregivers in the profession

  • Cemetery workers

  • Workers in transfer services

  • Crematorium workers

  • Interns

Interviews will be 30 minutes and will be carried out on Zoom or on the phone. Data will be reported in aggregate form.

PROFESSIONALS' FOCUS GROUPS

Where do we go from here?

We’re planning for the future of the bereavement sector. We will be holding four focus groups to workshop people’s thoughts about a peer support network, a pandemic toolkit, curricular change, management practices, and the future of the bereavement sector in general. The focus groups will ideally be composed of other people working in similar environments and/or roles, and we hope to host at least one focus group in French. The focus groups will be a maximum of 60 minutes and will be carried out on Zoom. This step of the research will take place in the fall of 2022 and winter of 2023
